Abu Dhabi Weekend on the way: 4-5-6 May 2017
“Rudy Rahme” Art Exhibition @ Le Royal Méridien Abu Dhabi
Le Royal Méridien Abu Dhabi and Sarah Jordan Associates present an art exhibition by renowned Lebanese sculptor, poet and artist, Rudy Rahme. Rahme is a renowned Lebanese painter, sculptor and poet. He was born in Bcharre, North Lebanon in 1967.
Rudy invented a new technique for fixing the “Pencil on Canvas” painting which was patented in his name in Florence, Italy, and announced at the Gadarte Gallery – Florence. Rudy has exhibited his work globally including: Miami, Singapore, Amsterdam, London, Paris, Switzerland Dubai & Monaco.
Rudy is also known for creating the largest natural sculpture in the world. The idea rose from the existence of dead trees in the cedars forest, so that they won’t be cut and disposed unremembered, and so that their story remains and lives on. Rudy Rahme came up with the idea of making the forest a natural museum, supported and assisted by the Committee of the Cedars Forest. The exhibition Rudy Rahme runs until end of Ramadan 2017 and will be open to visitors and guests of the Le Royal Méridien Abu Dhabi daily from 9am to 10pm.

Dj Kid Koala in Abu Dhabi
DJ, musician, producer, graphic novelist… there’s not much that this quirky artist can’t do. The enigmatic Canadian, DJ Kid Koala – who has toured with the likes of Radiohead, contributed to scores for films like The Great Gatsby and collaborated with huge artists like Gorillaz – is in town next week for a series of diverse, creative workshops and live shows as part of a five-day residency at NYU Abu Dhabi.
Back in 2003, he released his first graphic novel Nufonia Must Fall, along with an accompanying CD soundtrack. It follows the story of a headphone-wearing robot who falls in love. Since, he has turned the critically acclaimed dialogue-free novel into a live show combining cinema, theatre and music.
